Brandy (D-I-Love) and I went to a Close To My Heart Layout workshop tonight and we got a lot of measuring done for four layouts and made a greeting card!
It is so easy to not go to these things! I'm not just referring to a particular workshops but anything creative or fun.
Stagnancy can happen when the life in creativity gets pushed down under the laundry, dirty dishes, needs, and duties of daily life.
It has taken me many years to DISCOVER ways to work and play. Prioritizing helps. A lot. It doesn’t always have every answer because sometimes no matter how prepared ahead we are, things pop up in need of being done. No matter how orderly planned or how many things we’ve taken care of to make something happen… we can hit bumps in the road. We can deal with overheating cars, collapsing ceilings, and depending on other people all right before heading out for an event or setting up to do something at home.
It is still important to try.
I believe I am called to be a Christian woman, wife, mother, and homemaker first. I take care of things like meals, tidying the house, and other basics. It frees me up to throw off my apron (or tie a new one onJ) and play. Maybe, not every day but definitely some days.
I’m dreaming “out loud” to inspire to keep some things up. What is your list?
Mine is:
Baking, dancing, swimming, making natural face, body and hair recipes, using essential oils, reading, painting, scribbling, scrapbooking, decorating, playing with the kids and pets, crocheting, sewing, embroidery, gardening, using herbs, photography and photo art, learning more on homesteading, and on!
